FAQs

What if I’d like a service that is not listed or want to combine some of these services?

I’m always happy to try and work with you to find an editorial package that fits. Please send an email through my contact page detailing which of these services you’d like to combine, or what editorial work you are seeking that isn’t listed, and I’ll reply to let you know if I can fulfill your request and to provide a quote.

Are there any genres you don’t edit?

While I’m widely read and generally curious, there are of course some genres which fall outside my areas of expertise. If that’s the case, I will let you know when you submit your editorial request, but here are a few genres that likely won’t be a good fit: erotica, military or techno thrillers, military nonfiction, sports nonfiction, children’s picture books, and sword and sorcery fantasy.

What if i need a quick turnaround?

When you book your editing service, I will provide a timeline for completing your edit. If the return date doesn’t work for you, and if my schedule allows, we can arrange for an expedited return of materials for a rush fee.

What Kind of Books do you most love to Read and edit?

My years as a reader and my time at literary agencies left me with an appreciation for genres of all kinds but there are some types of works I’m especially interested in reading.

For Fiction: women’s fiction, literary fiction about the African diaspora, middle grade fiction, fabulist fiction, contemporary and light fantasy (plus portal fantasy and anything fairytale or mythology based), psychological thriller, speculative/science fiction focused on social issues, historical fiction about the 20th and 21st century that isn’t about WWI or WWII.

For Nonfiction: popular psychology, memoirs and creative nonfiction tackling social and cultural issues, autobiographical and cultural critique essay collections, craft books, microhistory, and social/cultural history.
