With degrees in both Creative Writing and Literature, and six years experience in the publishing industry, it’s safe to say that I remain fully vindicated in insisting all the overdue library book fees paid by my parents were worthwhile. While still a student at Purchase College, I first became enamored with the world of publishing as an intern for Andrea Cirillo at Jane Rotrosen Agency. After graduation, I began work at Don Congdon Associates, starting first as a literary assistant and office manager, and eventually seeking manuscripts as an agent before my departure in 2019. The passion for women’s fiction and thrillers that led me to JRA as intern has stuck with me over the years, while my experiences at DCA, working with agents whose lists ranged from memoir and nonfiction to middle grade and literary fiction, deeply expanded my knowledge and love for even more genres. There is nothing more satisfying to me than when a writer feels their writing is deeply seen and guided by my editorial suggestions. I have a knack for understanding what a writer is trying to express, while still seeing the stumbling blocks in their prose that might deter another reader.
